Associate Pastor/Worship J.R. Cano

J.R., Melissa, Ethan Cano

J.R. and his wife Melissa have recently moved to East Wenatchee from Amarillo Texas. J.R. accepted the call to to come to Eastmont Baptist as their Associate Pastor of Worship in November of 2009. J.R. Cano, a Texas native, grew up on the High Plains of Texas in Dumas.

J.R. attended the Wayland Baptist University School of Music where he majored in Vocal Performance and Church Music. J.R. received his theological training from the Bible Chair of The Southwest in Amarillo Texas. J.R. served in ministry for 7 years with experience in Student Ministry as well as Worship. His wife Melissa received her BS in Biology form Wayland Baptist University. Melissa is also a gifted registered nurse, loves to cook and enjoys being a mom. Their son Ethan Josiah, was born August 6, 2008.

Associate Pastor/Counseling and Youth Ministry

Came to Eastmont Baptist Church November 1998

after more than 20 years of counseling experience in psychiatric hospitals, treatment programs, private settings, and trauma response.

Have a Master of Divinity degree in theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1980),

and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from California Baptist College (1974).

Don and his wife, Pam – who is a gifted teacher, have been married since 1977 and have four children – Perry, Kalyn, Catherine, and Ryan.

Pastor Steve Brewer

Pastor Steve Steve & Tina Brewer

Pastor Steve Brewer, Eastmont Baptist’s Senior Pastor, has been serving at Eastmont since July 2002. He and his wife Tina have served 4 other churches in the Northwest since he entered pastoral ministries in 1979. Pastor Steve holds a Bachelor in Forestry Science degree from Northern Arizona University, a Masters of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Luther Rice Seminary. Tina works as a special education teacher in the Eastmont School District. They have two married children, Marcel and her husband Justin in Fife, Washington and Jed and his wife Jordan in Tucson, Arizona.

Pastor Steve accepted Jesus as his Savior at age 9 in Burbank, California and was shortly thereafter baptized in First Baptist Church of Burbank. Tina received the Lord at age 19 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Flagstaff, Arizona while she and Steve were in college. They have been married since 1975.

Pastor Steve says his passion is to see people come to faith in Jesus and watch them grow in Christian maturity being able to apply God’s Word to everyday life and make a positive difference in our world. To this aim, he believes that the whole Word of God must be taught in a practical and applicational way each week in church.
